Their songs and tunes have their roots in the southeastern United States, where Irish and English songs blended with African American blues at the beginning of the 20th century. Accompanied by banjo, mandolin, fiddle and bass guitar, The Chicken Ruckus sing of cool mountains and wild coasts, of working on the railroad and in the coal mines, of love, life, death and whatever may come after. Every performance by The Chicken Ruckus is both raw and melodious, delivered with passion and guaranteed to move every audience deep down, unless the stomping rhythms and crisp bass lines sweep them away first.
