Founded in southern Berlin in 1983, the band played a major role in shaping the German ska scene as it grew in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Alongside Skaos, No Sports, The Braces, El Bosso & die Ping-Pongs and The Busters, they laid the foundations for a lively movement - at first, naturally, only in West Germany. In early 1990, Blechreiz were among the first West German bands to tour the GDR with their East Berlin colleagues Michele Baresi. Blechreiz also maintained close ties with Messer Banzani from Leipzig. After hundreds of shows across Europe, five studio albums and one live album, Blechreiz disbanded in 1996 after a farewell tour - only to return in its original line-up in 2008. Since then, the band has released three albums and performed in Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland and Spain. In 2022, they released "Flight of the Bumble Bee" - 16 tracks on CD and 13 on vinyl - including "Memoria Insuficiente" by Bogotá. In September 2023, Blechreiz celebrated the band's 40th anniversary with concerts across Germany. Live recordings from Greiz (March 2024) and Berlin (December 2024) were released in November 2025 as "Live & Loud", capturing the band's energy. "We've wanted to play a gig at PANDA for a long time.
