About This Event

What happens when we stop rushing from A to B?

For the third part of our Collective Rest series, we continue our journey through the body and arrive at the lower body: our hips, legs and feet.

Our legs move us through the world. They carry us to work, appointments, gatherings, responsibilities and one another. In the rhythms of everyday life, walking can easily become simply a way of getting somewhere - our bodies moving towards the next thing before we've fully arrived at the last.

What might change when we allow ourselves to move more slowly?

Together, we'll explore our relationship to pace, movement and rest through a walking somatic practice, grounding yoga focused on the hips and legs, and reflection in pairs.

We'll experiment with walking through the space without needing to arrive anywhere, noticing the sensations of our feet meeting the ground and what happens in our bodies when we change our pace.

From there, we'll explore questions such as:

Where in my life do I feel myself rushing?
What happens in my body when I slow down?
What pace actually feels like mine?
What would it mean to move through the world without always orienting towards the next thing?

This session is an invitation to come back down into our legs, feel the support of the ground beneath us, and explore slowness not as doing nothing, but as another way of being in relationship with ourselves and each other.

No previous yoga or somatic experience is needed. Come as you are.

💛 This gathering is donation-based - contributions help us sustain the series and keep it accessible.

We're looking forward to slowing down together.
