New Year's Eve parties
In German-speaking countries New Year's Eve is called Silvester, after Pope Sylvester I, whose feast day is 31 December. Many clubs open in the evening and play far into New Year's Day.
New Year's Eve FAQ
When do the New Year's Eve parties happen?
New Year's Eve is always 31 December, but some promoters start the evening before and others carry on through New Year's Day. That's why this page covers every party from 30 December to 1 January.
Do I need a ticket in advance?
For the big club nights, usually yes: New Year's Eve nights often sell out early, and the door is then pricier or closed. Each event listing says whether and where tickets are sold.
How long do New Year's Eve parties last?
Most start late in the evening and run into the morning of 1 January, some afterhours into the afternoon. Each party lists its exact times.
