Partynado is now in ChatGPT: Just ask where the party is tonight

Partynado Team4 min read

A group of friends stands on a street at night, looking together at a smartphone lighting up their faces.

Friday, just after eight. Someone asks "What's happening tonight?" in the group chat and then nothing happens for a while. Someone sends a story from last week, someone else shares a flyer that has already expired. That's exactly the kind of moment Partynado is for. And from now on, it's also where many of you already ask your questions: Partynado is live in the ChatGPT plugin directory. Tell ChatGPT what you're in the mood for and it'll suggest real parties in Switzerland and Germany, with start times, venues and entry prices. It's free and you don't need an account with us.

Why ChatGPT, of all places?

More and more people are typing their questions into a chat instead of a search engine. That includes questions about going out. But a language model doesn't know on its own which club night is happening in your city on Saturday. It guesses or points you to pages that nobody has updated for weeks.

I think chat is a particularly good fit for going out. The question is rarely precise. "Something with good music, not too far away and not too expensive" is a pretty typical starting point, and a chat can handle a sentence like that better than a search box with five filters.

There are currently around 1,800 upcoming parties listed on Partynado in Switzerland and Germany, and the calendar is updated every day. With the plugin, ChatGPT accesses this data directly. So the parties in the chat come from the same calendar as the ones on partynado.com.

How it works

Open Partynado in the ChatGPT plugin directory and add it to ChatGPT. Then ask as you normally would, just as you'd message a friend. ChatGPT searches Partynado and shows you the parties as cards with an image, date, venue and price. Tap a card to open the party page on Partynado, with the line-up, directions and tickets.

The nice thing about chat is that you don't have to include everything in your first question. "Too expensive" or "something harder, please" is enough for your next message and the search adjusts. You can ask about a city or the whole country.

More than city and date

The plugin uses the same search as the website. So you can ask about music, such as techno, house, hip-hop or Latin. If you prefer partying with people your own age, ask for over-30 or over-40 parties. You can find queer parties too. If you're only interested in day raves or open-air events, just say so.

For budget questions, the plugin uses the currency of the country. In Switzerland, that means francs, and in Germany, euros. If you write in French or English, it replies in your language and links to the right version of Partynado.

A few questions to try

  • Find parties in Zürich this weekend.
  • Where can I dance in Bern tonight?
  • Find techno parties in Basel next weekend.
  • Find over-30 parties in Luzern in the next four weeks.
  • What's on in Berlin on Saturday for no more than 20 euros?

Honest about prices

One thing was particularly important to us when building this: if we don't know an entry price, we say so. The plugin doesn't estimate prices or make up numbers. If you ask for parties under 20 francs, you'll only get parties with a known price. If you still want to see the ones with no price listed, just say so.

The same goes for times. Each card shows the party's local time, wherever you happen to be. For recurring parties, the link goes straight to the right date, not to a general page where you have to search for it.

What you can still do with us

The plugin is for finding ideas. You buy tickets as usual on the party page. You can also save parties and reserve tables there. For when you're out and about, there's the Partynado app for iPhone and Android. You'll get a push notification when your clubs add new parties. Your tickets are available offline in the app as a QR pass, even in a basement with no reception.

That's why we don't see the plugin as a replacement for the app. Use the chat to quickly find an idea for the evening, then keep everything you need at the door in the app.

Give it a try

Open Partynado in ChatGPT and ask about your next weekend. Whether you can also use the plugin in the ChatGPT app on your phone depends on ChatGPT and your account.

We're curious to hear what you ask. If a party is missing or an answer is off, the best thing to do is message us with the question you asked. That way, we can work out what went wrong.

Enough reading. Go out.

The parties sit in the search, with filters for city, date, genre and category.
