75 Jahre Motoclub St.Stephan

ST. STÖFFAN ROCKS! — 75 years of MC St. Stephan — and the Simmental is shaking...
On 17 July 1951, a few diehards fired up their old motorcycles deep in the Simmental and founded Motoclub St. Stephan — a kind of declaration of defiance against stagnation and retirement.
75 years later, they still haven’t gone soft: still working the throttle in four-stroke style, a little crumpled, but roaring loudly in the saddle. Around 1,000 metres above everyday life, with the Wildstrubel at their backs, they turn the quiet village into ST. S TÖFF AN for one weekend — and everything with two or more wheels is invited.
FRIDAY, 17 JULY 2026 – FYRABEBIER
The opening act disguises itself as an after-work beer (from 16:00), but is in fact a full-throttle open-air festival. HAMSCHTER (18:00), KITSCH (20:00) and VOLXROX (22:00) turn up the volume piece by piece until, at midnight, even the Strubel briefly opens its eyes. Then DJ Mendossa takes over — with no guarantee that the journey home will begin before sunrise.

SATURDAY, 18 JULY 2026 – THE BIG DAY
As soon as ST. S TÖFF AN awakens, breakfast (08:00) is ready and the airfield becomes a place of pilgrimage for anything with chrome, engine capacity and a questionable insurance situation: motorcycle meet-up, Dominic Aegerter autograph session (11:15-11:45), shows — and the scent of petrol and seventy-five years of history hanging in the air, casting a shadow of its own.
In the evening, they take over the microphone: SILI AND THE GREY ROCK REBELS (17:00) get things started, followed by BAD ASS ROMANCE (19:00), ROCK-OUT (21:00) and MEGAWATT (23:00), turning it up until midnight finally surrenders. DJ Mendossa turns it up again during the aftershow.

GOOD TO KNOW:
Location: St. Stephan airfield, Obersimmental BE — Wildstrubel backdrop included. Camping: free tent pitches for everyone (pastureland — please leave it clean). Campers by advance registration only; space is very limited (see website). Accessibility: the grounds are wheelchair accessible (concert area on grassland), and a wheelchair-accessible toilet is available. Kids up to 16 go free: children up to 16 years of age are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.

That MC St. Stephan knows how to get an event like this off the ground is not a claim but a matter of record — as a Supermoto organiser from 2005 to 2011, it personally dragged motorsport into the valley while others were already debating noise protection. But in 2026, it is less about the sporting side and more about the certainty that, after 75 years, they are still alive at all.
