80s Forever - the eighties party for connoisseurs

Since 2007, 80s Forever has been creating nostalgic feelings through music and visuals with pop, New Wave, New Romantic, rock and Neue Deutsche Welle. After its beginnings at Härterei and BBQ, its move to Flamingo and a spell as a travelling disco, 80s Forever found a home at the beautiful Papiersaal in Sihlcity in January 2010. It soon became clear that this was a stroke of luck. Every first Saturday of the month, around 500 dance enthusiasts float through the 80s heaven there.

Not always the same hits

Musically, 80s Forever is a refreshing change from other 80s parties. While others keep playing the same sing-along anthems, DJs Pete G, DZ and P@man go one step further: alongside the classics, they play many almost forgotten tracks as well as songs waiting to be rediscovered. You can also dance to songs by well-known artists that are otherwise sadly rarely heard. After all, in the 80s A-ha had more than just «Take On Me», Madonna more than just «Like a Prayer», and Prince more than just «Kiss» in their repertoire.

Every song as a video clip

The presentation of the songs is unusual too. Every track is played as a video clip, both visually and acoustically. Naturally, everything is shown on a big screen, so you can really feel immersed and experience all the beautiful and terrible sides of the 80s up close. DJ Pete G has painstakingly collected more than 2,500 video clips, and has re-synchronised and re-edited some of them. This turns the musical 80s into a visual and acoustic feast.

Who comes to the party?

Who visits 80s Forever? Everyone who loves the sound of the 80s and is open to rare or never-played gems. The average age is around 30 to 50. Most guests experienced the 80s themselves and look forward every month to travelling back to that era through music for an entire evening. But many guests also come who just missed the decade and now have a great need to catch up on the good music of that time. And that need is guaranteed to be met.
