Burnout Ostwest

No Deutschpunk is no solution either, and presumably neither is no Germany. And who wants a simple soup of slogans and anti-slogans when there is top-notch irony to sing and mosh along to? The Bremen duo Burnout Ostwest have enjoyed street-punk credibility since their launch six years ago, because, well, punk is no different in that respect: nothing comes from nothing. One of them plays with the techno-punks Alltag, the other with Mercedes Jens and Team Scheisse! Felix Büttner and Hannes Gehring strum their guitar with ravey synthesizer support, definitely not moving forward in order to close ranks at all costs. Contradiction can, after all, be a perfectly valid approach to finding a solution. Speaking of which: for several years now, the Italy-longing-and-fan song has been obligatory in German-language pop, and it has usually turned out so-so at best. Burnout Ostwest also try their hand at the genre and, unsurprisingly, do not come off too badly, because «the only ones who cannot be ruffled are dogs and tanks».
