Anyone familiar with the history of British club culture cannot overlook CJ Mackintosh. Since the beginnings of the acid house movement, he has shaped the scene like few others. As early as 1987, he won the UK DMC Mix Championship and made a name for himself worldwide as a DJ and remixer.

His remixes for artists such as Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, C&C Music Factory, De La Soul, Inner City and Coldcut are just as much a part of his impressive career as his involvement in the legendary project M/A/R/R/S, whose worldwide hit "Pump Up The Volume" made music history.

In the mid-90s, CJ Mackintosh became a resident DJ at the world-famous Ministry of Sound London, where he was one of the club's defining figures until 1997. With more than four decades of experience behind the decks, CJ Mackintosh is coming to Purple Night in Bern for the first time.

SAMO (NL) - Big Love Records

Our special guest is SAMO from Rotterdam. The Dutchman began his DJ career in the mid-90s in Rotterdam's legendary club scene and is now one of Europe's most sought-after disco and house producers. His productions and remixes are released on renowned labels such as Big Love Records, Armada Music, Cruise Music, Let There Be House Records and many more.

With tracks such as "Straight On" and "Strangers", SAMO stormed the international house charts and was voted one of the Top 20 Jackin House Artists worldwide for three consecutive years. His energetic sets have taken him from Amsterdam via London to Ibiza - now he celebrates his debut at Purple Night in Bern.

Dennis Valentine UK) - Hard Times & Ministry of Sound

In the 90s, Dennis seemed to be in Switzerland 🇨🇭 every weekend - rumour has it he almost applied for a Swiss passport. 😁 Back then, he was an integral part of CJ Mackintosh's side, just as he was of Ricky Morrison's - and Dennis is even the godfather of Ricky's daughter! He played countless Pump It Ups and later Groove Lifts for us.

Danny Coleman (CH)

For more than two decades, Danny Coleman has stood for Jackin'90s, funky and disco house at the highest level. International releases, club residencies and festival appearances have shaped his career. Today, he combines timeless house classics with modern grooves and an unmistakable feel for the dance floor.

Together with DJ Tele, he relaunched Purple Night in Bern in November 2025, successfully reviving one of the region's most legendary house event series. As the host of the evening, Danny Coleman will once again provide the musical framework for Volume 5, bringing together international guests and an unforgettable club night.
