Little Barrie

How cool can music actually be? Little Barrie, the British trio comprising Barrie Cadogan, Lewis Wharton and Tony Coote (formerly Malcolm Catto), keep providing the answer - album after album, song after song. The new album, Gravity Freeze (May 2026), released in May 2026 on the label Easy Eye Sound (Dan Auerbach), effortlessly takes its place alongside great albums such as Stand Your Ground (2007), Shadow (2014), Quatermass Seven (2020) and Electric War (2025). It is an album full of pleasure and, above all, groove, from start to finish. From the opener More Bad Miles Of Road to the closing title track Gravity Freeze. Little Barrie's characteristic atmosphere is immediately palpable and continues to enchant a broad audience of music lovers: fans of guitar music in general, rock'n'roll, jazz, funk and psych will all be equally spellbound. As Little Barrie themselves explain: «We just pretty much do what we want to without tailoring our music to any specific genre». Cadogan's unique guitar sound is once again powerful yet shy, present yet silky smooth. Wharton's exciting basslines are a huge joy and are everywhere without ever becoming intrusive. Together with Tony Coote, grooviness personified, they form the fantastic foundation of this music. It is a tremendous pleasure that this band is playing its only Swiss concert at Palace. So leave your coolness at home - there will be plenty for everyone!
