The Swiss Tribute to AC/DC

Since 2002, the AC/DC tribute band live/wire has been following in the footsteps of the Australian rock gods. Based in the Basel region, the group impresses both musically and visually, making it Switzerland’s most successful AC/DC tribute band. Elements of the original show are also part of their concerts – such as the Hell's Bell , Rosie or the bagpipe players of the live/wire Pipe Corps. In their around two-hour show, the band, which now has over 60 songs in its repertoire, plays not only the best-known hits, but also rarities for die-hard AC/DC fans and songs that are rarely or never heard live from the original. The following five musicians deliver the authentic sound: Däny amazes the audience with his deceptively genuine Brian Johnson voice. His facial expressions and cap also evoke the likeable AC/DC frontman. Cello plays the riffs on his Gibson SG note for note like Angus and, following his example, storms across the stage in the authentic school uniform. Adi rocks his Gretsch guitar in true Malcolm style – sharp-edged and powerful. Ronny follows the straightforward, no-frills playing style of drummer Phil Rudd. And Beat lays down a spectacular low-end foundation in the style of Cliff Williams with his four strings. The band themselves provide the best reason not to miss this ride on the Rock’n’Roll Train: «Because 8 minutes is damn short to get hold of an AC/DC ticket!»
