The Swiss AC/DC Tribute

Since 2002, the AC/DC tribute band live/wire has been following in the footsteps of the Australian hell-raisers. Based in the Basel region, the band impresses both musically and visually, making it Switzerland's most successful AC/DC tribute band. Their concerts also feature elements of the original's show, such as the Hell's Bell, Rosie and the bagpipers of the live/wire Pipe Corps. In their roughly two-hour show, the band, which now has more than 60 songs in its repertoire, plays not only universally known hits, but also rarities for die-hard AC/DC fans and songs that are rarely or never performed live by the original. The following five musicians provide the authentic sound: Däny astounds the audience with his uncannily accurate Brian Johnson voice. His facial expressions and cap also evoke the charismatic AC/DC frontman. Cello plays the riffs on his Gibson SG note-for-note like Angus and whirls across the stage in the authentic school uniform, following his role model's example. Adi rocks his Gretsch guitar in the finest Malcolm style - sharp-edged and powerful. Ronny takes his cues from drummer Phil Rudd's straightforward, no-frills playing style. And Beat lays down a thunderous low-end foundation with his four strings, in the style of Cliff Williams. The band itself provides the best reason not to miss this ride on the Rock'n'Roll Train: "Because 8 minutes is damn short to get an AC/DC ticket!"
