About the party
Malibu is a French musician whose artistic practice approaches a form of meditation. Allegorical in their approach, her compositions are less rooted in a traditional listening experience and instead exist as fragments of a vast, if very intimate, imagination. Pieces from the worlds of drone, neoclassical, dance and pop are woven together - between synthesizer, cello, ethereal or spoken voices, choirs and deep bass - creating new contexts and stories.
The live experience of Malibu's music is a unique moment and an integral part of her artistic practice. The audience is presented with a homogeneous mix of pieces that almost transports them into a second state, rocking and hypnotising them. This has led to performances at festivals such as Berlin Atonal, Club 2 Club and Pitchfork, as well as recent opening slots on the tours of Oklou and Julianna Barwick.
