About the party
LUC Christmas 1860: Who killed Cloclo? Dear Luciennes and dear Luciens, it is 1860. Lausanne is still a peaceful little town where people travel by horse-drawn carriage, the metro is nothing but an engineer's delusion and the Riponne already looks like a battlefield. The LUC has been around since time immemorial and its players already shine more at the bar than in the scrum. But in this foggy winter, a tragedy has turned the club's life upside down. Cloclo has been found dead. And no, contrary to the first rumours circulating in the taverns of the Cité, he did not choke on his own vomit. The investigation reveals a far more mysterious end: Cloclo is said to have been smothered between a Liquors and a Great. A tragic end, but one that, let's admit it, suits him a little. As investigators dig into the victim's past, one thing becomes clear: Cloclo was no choirboy. The casino's records still bear the trace of a memorable evening in the company of James, from which neither man ever really recovered, financially or morally, and which James never wanted to talk about again. Some also remember that famous night before a match when Cloclo decided to "just have one drink", before being found early the next morning fast asleep under the shower, the water still running, a smile on his face and the match already lost. And what about that strange habit of drinking his beers out of fish, which still puzzles the greatest scholars of the time? Nobody ever knew where it came from. Nobody ever dared to ask. In short, Cloclo had enemies. Lots of enemies. Maybe even pretty much everyone. But a new clue has turned the investigation upside down. At the crime scene, investigators found a torn LUC jersey. And one thing is certain: this jersey did NOT belong to Cloclo. So the murderer is a LUC player. Every player is a suspect. Nobody can be cleared. Nobody can be ruled out. Not even you. For one evening, the LUC will pay Cloclo a final tribute, shed a few tears, beer this time served in a glass, and above all try to unmask the culprit before they strike again. For the occasion, put on your finest period costume. Come as a ruined casino lord, a grieving widow who could never stand Cloclo, a butler who saw everything but will say nothing, a forensic pathologist who has never seen a dead body but has seen plenty of third halves, a pickpocket, an undertaker or even a fish, preferably empty. The important thing is to bring your good mood, your powers of observation and a solid alibi. But please, not 40 Sherlock Holmeses, or we'll end up arresting each other.
