If I just have the right mindset, if I look within and take a deep breath, then I can achieve anything I set my mind to - entirely through my own efforts.
This is the neoliberal nonsense we are all confronted with every day and that leads us into isolation. And if it is nonsense when it comes to life, it is even more so when it comes to writing. Writing can be a lonely activity. We hope to come up with that one brilliant, one-of-a-kind idea all by ourselves, the one that will solve all our writer's block and life problems and let us write a brilliant text. In doing so, we forget that writing, like many other things, can be done alone, but does not have to be.
In classic Ruderclub style, we want to get together for an evening, try out exercises for collective writing processes and reflect on and discuss writing together.
You can register for the Rowing Course on Instagram or by email. Get in touch too if you have ideas, suggestions or questions about collective writing. โจ@__ruderclub__ / [email protected]
The workshop is led by Winterthur-based authors Julia Toggenburger, Aleks Sekaniฤ and Marc Herter. Together, they organise the Ruderclub reading series, which takes place at Portier from autumn to spring.
The Kraftfeld-Bar is open continuously from 17h to 1h. The writing workshop takes place in the adjoining room and runs until around 22h.
