80s Forever - the eighties party for connoisseurs

Since 2007, 80s Forever has been evoking nostalgia in sound and vision with pop, new wave, new romantic, rock and Neue Deutsche Welle. After its beginnings at Härterei and BBQ, the move to Flamingo and a period as a travelling disco, 80s Forever found a home in January 2010 at the beautiful Papiersaal in Sihlcity. It quickly proved to be a real stroke of luck. On the first Saturday of every month, around 500 dance enthusiasts float through the 80s heaven there.

Not always the same hits

Musically, 80s Forever stands out refreshingly from other 80s parties. While others keep playing the same sing-along anthems, DJs Pete G, DZ and P@man go one step further: alongside the classics, they play many almost forgotten tracks and songs waiting to be newly discovered or rediscovered. You can also dance to songs by well-known artists that you unfortunately rarely hear elsewhere. After all, A-ha had more than just «Take On Me» in the 80s, Madonna more than just «Like a Prayer» and Prince more than just «Kiss».

Every song as a video clip

The presentation of the songs is unusual, too. Every track is played as a video clip, in sound and vision. Naturally, everything is shown on a big screen, so you can truly feel part of it and experience all the beautiful and terrible sides of the 80s up close. DJ Pete G has painstakingly collected more than 2,500 video clips, some of which he has re-synchronised and re-edited. This turns the musical 80s into a visual and acoustic feast.

Who comes to party?

Who visits 80s Forever? Everyone who loves the sound of the 80s and is open to discovering gems that are rarely or never played. The average age is around 30 to 50. Most visitors experienced the 80s themselves and look forward every month to travelling back to that era through music for one evening. But many guests also come who just missed the decade and now have a great appetite for the good music of that time. And that appetite is guaranteed to be satisfied.
