Bay Area Thrash Double Bill

The Bay Area is coming to Pratteln. Death Angel are celebrating the 35th anniversary of their cult album “Act III” with an exclusive performance of the album in its entirety, and they are bringing another pioneer of the legendary thrash metal movement to Z7: Vio-Lence. Two cult bands, two decades of music history and an evening packed with high-speed riffs, guaranteed mosh pits and Bay Area spirit.

Since their formation in 1982, Death Angel have ranked among the most influential bands in the legendary Bay Area thrash scene. With uncompromising riffs, technical precision and boundless live energy, the Californians remain at the international forefront of the genre more than four decades later. Following their reunion in 2001, the band entered a second, hugely successful phase of their career, releasing critically acclaimed albums such as “The Art Of Dying”, “The Dream Calls For Blood”, “The Evil Divide” and the Grammy-nominated “Humanicide”. In 2025, Death Angel made an impressive return with the new singles “Wrath (Bring Fire)” and “Cult Of The Used”. However, a very special anniversary is at the heart of the current tour: to mark the 35th anniversary of their classic “Act III”, the album will be performed live in its entirety at Z7 for the first time. The setlist will be rounded off with selected highlights from throughout the band’s history – an absolute celebration for all thrash metal fans.

Vio-Lence have been among the key pioneers of the second wave of thrash metal since the mid-1980s. With their cult album “Eternal Nightmare”, the Oakland musicians made Bay Area history and influenced generations of metal bands. Following their reunion, the scene legends are once again regularly taking to the stage, delivering the perfect start to an unforgettable night of thrash with their uncompromising blend of speed, aggression and precision.

And that’s not all: the evening will be opened by a local band from the region. Who secures the opening slot will be decided as part of a band contest. More information will follow shortly.
