With his untamed guitar power, soulful vocals and the fine blend of blues and hard rock, Eric Steckel will be back at Z7 again this year. The new album “Sandstorm” (release: April 2026) shows the musician more focused and explosive than ever. Heavy riffs, intense solos and contemporary songwriting merge into a modern, powerful sound that will thrill both blues purists and hard-rock fans.

Although he is only in his mid-thirties, Eric Steckel already enjoys cult status on the international guitar scene and can look back on an impressive career. His debut album “A Few Degrees Warmer” was recorded live in April 2002, when he was just eleven years old. It was not long before Eric played the Sarasota Blues Festival, where his performance quickly became the talk of the day. And before the night was over, the newcomer was introduced by British blues-rock legend John Mayall as the youngest guitarist ever to perform on stage with his Bluesbreakers. Steckel is a gifted musician who has even recorded an album almost single-handedly, handling piano, organ, bass, guitars, vocals and production in the studio. With more than 20 years of experience on stage and in the studio, Eric regularly delivers his signature blend of rock, blues and blues metal to guitar lovers around the world.

In October 2025, Steckel performed with his power trio at Z7 for the first time. Anyone who experienced that incredible show will definitely not miss the concert next September. With the song “When It Rains, It Pours”, the exceptional artist gave a first taste of the new album “Sandstorm”: emotional vocals meet dynamic arrangements and a guitar sound that is raw, modern and unmistakably Eric Steckel. Dan Malsch (Ghost, Gojira, Avenged Sevenfold and others) took care of the powerful production of the new songs. With the album release in April, Steckel will set off on the World Tour 2026, presenting the new material live. Fans can look forward to intense, high-energy shows in which Eric Steckel will not only present the brand-new tracks, but also play selected highlights from his previous releases.
