GERMAN METAL ATTACK 2027: LEGENDS NEVER DIE

The great Teutonic metal parade is rolling in. Led by Ruhrpott legends Grave Digger, a massive, loud and uncompromising metal package is coming to Pratteln in January 2027. Special guests Motorjesus will bring their high-octane metal to the stage. Kicking things off, Warwolf will deliver hard riffs and a mad double-bass inferno.

Steel is being forged once again. In 2027, German heavy metal will return to Europe’s stages with full force. Under the banner “Legends Never Die”, three mighty forces unite for a package that will set metal hearts racing. At the centre are cult band Grave Digger. With groundbreaking albums and unique anthems, Grave Digger have been among the most formative and influential bands in the German metal scene since the early 1980s. Even after more than four and a half decades in the merciless business, there is no sign of fatigue. Chris Boltendahl, Jens Becker, Marcus Kniep and Tobias Kersting remain a formidable live act and continue to release high-quality albums at regular intervals. With “Bone Collector”, Grave Digger released the first album of their career completely free of keyboard passages in January 2025. With new axeman Tobias Kersting, the band has rediscovered long-forgotten trademarks. Raw, brutal, honest and yet catchy, songs such as “Bone Collector” and “Made Of Madness” thunder from the speakers. The record is a manifesto of German heavy metal: old-school at its finest, without rust or patina, always authentic. Rarely has the band sounded as versatile, energetic, fresh and multifaceted as it does on this album. At German Metal Attack, Grave Digger will bring a classic set spanning more than four decades of band history alongside hard-hitting new material, once again proving that true legends never go under. Timeless classics such as “Heavy Metal Breakdown”, “Rebellion” and “Excalibur” will meet brand-new thunderous anthems, creating an explosive blend of past and future.

Motorjesus: As special guests, Motorjesus will fire up the night with their driving high-octane metal – an explosive blend of metal, rock’n’roll and petrol in the veins. Anyone who has experienced them live knows: it is full throttle with no compromises! In summer 2025, the Mönchengladbach band made a thunderous comeback with “Streets of Fire”. Their eighth studio album takes their unmistakable heavy rock to a new dimension. At full throttle, they present a mix of Motörhead-influenced sleaze rock, anthemic 1980s metal in the style of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, and a strong dose of punk attitude. The result: an uncompromising heavy-rock firework that will thrill both long-time fans and new listeners. Motorjesus have filled the tank to the brim and are flooring the accelerator. Following their previous album “Hellbreaker”, which reached number 20 in the German album charts and earned the band festival appearances at Summer Breeze, Rock Hard Festival and many other stages, they are setting new standards with “Streets of Fire”. The album is packed with powerful anthems made for singing along and raising fists. This time deliberately without ballads, but with even more speed, groove and driving riffs that immediately get stuck in your head. With their unmistakable sound, Motorjesus once again prove that they are one of Germany’s most enduring and powerful heavy-rock bands.

Warwolf: To open this hot metal night, there will be merciless riffs and double-bass attacks straight from hell. NWOBHM meets Teutonic steel. Warwolf are here with their third album. “The Final Battle” offers Maiden-esque influences with a Teutonic touch – but this time even rawer and more honest. A no-bullshit version with a raw live sound. Once again, the masterpiece was produced, mixed and mastered by Grave Digger singer Chris Boltendahl at Graveyard Studio in Cologne. Listening to Warwolf’s records chronologically, their development from one album to the next is clear to hear. The band has grown ever closer, matured like fine wine over time and developed an increasingly distinct identity. Singer Andreas von Lipinski is increasingly stepping out of the shadow of his powerful role models and becoming a charismatic, independent frontman in his own right. The album impresses with a powerful mix of classic and modern metal elements. Thundering guitar riffs meet distinctive vocals, while an irrepressible energy runs through every song. We are looking forward to Warwolf highlights from their three albums to date and a powerhouse live performance: dark, raw and wild!
