Lauber (CH)

Lauber's heart beats. With his unvarnished dialect charm, Lauber turns to big questions and simple truths. His songs revolve around longing, connection and the need to understand the world.
Rooted in theatre and film music, with branches reaching into indie folk, Lauber deliberately stands between worlds. His music is dramaturgically sensitive and sonically distinctive. With an affinity for language and harmonic turns that break open familiar progression patterns, his songs are like leaves in autumn: delicate yet powerful.

Inspired by Benjamin Clementine, Leif Vollebekk and Rachel Sermanni - and shaped by Mani Matter, Sophie Hunger and Faber - a contemporary, distinctive form of Swiss indie takes shape. Live, Lauber performs the songs in close collaboration with the string quartet Amour sur Mars (Patrick Watson, Sophie Hunger) and drummer Michael Cina. The result is an intimate evening that connects modern songwriting with the tradition of chamber music.

Lauber is the singer-songwriter project of Dominic Röthlisberger, a composer and producer with a master's degree in composition for film, theatre and media. In recent years, Röthlisberger has composed and released music for theatre productions in Switzerland and abroad.
