What would December at the Z7 be without live/wire? Year after year, Europe’s best AC/DC tribute band creates an electrifying atmosphere at the close of the year – a tradition that will continue this winter. On 18 and 19 December, the five rockers return to the Pratteln rock temple and unleash a spectacular fireworks display of hits by the Australian rock giants over two evenings – accompanied by hell’s bells, bagpipes and the thunderous boom of cannons. True to the motto: Let There Be Rock!

For more than five decades, the name AC/DC has stood for uncompromising hard rock and legendary live shows. More than 200 million records sold and world tours in sold-out arenas speak for themselves. Over 20 years ago, the formation live/wire emerged from the Basel region through the merger of the two cover bands Riff Raff and Jailbreak – and ever since, they have been arguably the most authentic AC/DC tribute Europe has to offer. With incredible enthusiasm and a show that is flawless down to the last detail, the five musicians send their audience into ecstasy night after night. With his voice, facial expressions and flat cap, singer Däny comes astonishingly close to his role model Brian Johnson – you could believe the original was standing on stage. Guitarist Cello hits every note like Angus Young on his Gibson SG and tears across the stage in a school uniform as if he had never done anything else. Adi provides the classic, no-frills Malcolm groove on his Gretsch, while Ronny delivers the right punch on drums in the finest Phil Rudd tradition. The sound is rounded off by Beat, who cements the foundation in the style of Cliff Williams with his four strings. Since their debut in autumn 2002, the band has continued to evolve, and their repertoire now includes more than 50 songs from four and a half decades of AC/DC history. The sound is true to the original, the show is packed with energy – and together, live/wire take the spirit of AC/DC to a new level with every show. Anyone who has experienced them once knows: this is no ordinary cover band, it is pure passion.
