Madison McFerrin (US)

Madison McFerrin is a singer, songwriter and producer from New York. Her music blends soul and pop with jazzy elements, groovy beats and layered vocal harmonies.

After eight and a half years, her relationship with her then-fiancé and manager came to an end. Their partnership, business relationship and planned wedding all ended as well. This difficult period gave rise to her second album, "SCORPIO".

On "SCORPIO", McFerrin explores the different stages of a broken heart - at times wistful, at times seductive and at times surprisingly carefree. Her voice is at the centre: using a vocal loop pedal, she builds layered harmonies and driving grooves that move between soul, pop and house.

McFerrin funded the album with money originally set aside for her wedding. A failed relationship thus became a musical fresh start, and "SCORPIO" is a self-assured album about loss, letting go and inner strength.
