About This Event
AHOY, PIRATES!
Mr. Hurley & Die Pulveraffen once again master the balancing act between traditional folk and modern rock sounds, launching brand-new sea shanties. With driving rhythms, rousing melodies and hearty vocals, the siblings from Osnabrück sail through rough seas and turbulent times. Often humorous, sometimes thoughtful, but always authentic.
Since their formation in 2009, Mr. Hurley & Die Pulveraffen have established themselves as one of the most successful and original bands in the German folk-rock scene. With a blend of humour, a thirst for adventure and powerful music, the band has won countless fans across Europe. Their live shows are renowned for their energy and humour. With their last five albums, Mr. Hurley and Die Pulveraffen have consistently reached the top ranks of the charts, impressively proving that they are the undisputed captains of the folk seas. The band releases new studio music at a pleasingly regular two-year interval. And so Mr. Hurley (vocals, guitar, mandolin, cello), Buckteeth Bannock (vocals, accordion, piano, flutes), Der einäugige Morgan (vocals, cajón, percussion, bodhrán, piano) and Pegleg Peggy (vocals, bass, double bass) will be back on deck with new material in 2027. With album number nine, the folk buccaneers set sail for another musical adventure. The much-acclaimed band, known for its driving rhythms and catchy melodies, once again presents an explosive mix of celebratory sea shanties, pirate romance and rough tales from their eventful world on the forthcoming release. With songs about the perhaps not entirely historically accurate everyday life of pirates on the Caribbean Sea, the band repeatedly shows that clever lyrics and the ability not to take themselves or the scene too seriously are among their greatest strengths.
Vogelfrey: Vogelfrey combine hard-hitting folk-metal riffs with modern electronic elements, catchy violin melodies and biting, ironic lyrics. With their energetic "medieval dance metal", the Hamburgers effortlessly tear down the boundaries between medieval rock, metal and party sound. Instead of nostalgic romanticism, the band focuses on contemporary themes, uncompromising heaviness and exhilarating live energy.
