About This Event

80s HARD ROCK WITH STADIUM-SIZED IMPACT

The New Roses from Wiesbaden are returning to Z7 with their rousing stadium-rock anthems. Finest 80s groove and plenty of live energy guaranteed. As support, the up-and-coming French glam rockers Harsh will provide endless Sunset Strip vibes.

The New Roses are among Germany’s most successful rock acts and have been scoring chart success and heavy rotation on rock stations in Germany and the UK with their albums and singles for years. Following appearances at international festivals such as Wacken, Hellfest and Sweden Rock, shows with acts including Kiss, ZZ Top, Black Stone Cherry, Joe Bonamassa and Die Toten Hosen, tours with artists such as the Scorpions, Saxon, Accept and Tremonti, and countless club shows as headliners, The New Roses are now well known to virtually every fan of quality 80s rock. In 2018 and 2019, the quartet from the Hessian state capital also became the first German band to take part in the legendary Kiss Kruise. The band has now released six acclaimed albums. Musically, they deliver American rock of the finest kind. Bon Jovi at their best are often cited as a reference point. There are plenty of stadium-ready songs, hard riffs and powerful drumming, catchy choruses and distinctive melodies alternating with authentic, rock-driven Americana tracks. And of course, The New Roses repeatedly show their softer side as well. At times, they deliver a captivating mid-tempo ballad or a touching acoustic piece in which frontman Timmy showcases the full range of his voice. The New Roses are equally convincing on stage. Writing about their December 2024 Z7 gig, Tinu from Metalfactory.ch said: “With ‘The Usual Suspects’ and ‘Down By The River’, sung along to at full volume by every voice in the room, an exceptional concert evening came to an end—one of the most moving of the year. The New Roses seem able to add a few more briquettes to the fire with every gig. Their infectious joy of playing, incredibly distinctive and damn powerful vocals, and the international flair the guys have earned themselves will fill stadiums one day.”

Harsh: This young Parisian band is well on its way to becoming France’s biggest rock export. Inspired by bands such as Bon Jovi, Mötley Crüe, Guns N’ Roses and Van Halen, Harsh bring the glory days of 80s glam and hard rock—and the atmosphere of the Sunset Strip at the time—back to life with their sound. Vinyl records, Jack Daniels, leopard-print leggings and Gibson guitars spring to mind as you take in their catchy melodies, powerful riffs, harmonious backing vocals and plenty of 80s attitude. Everything that people loved about the golden days of LA hard rock is here, freshly polished for the 2020s. Harsh released their fantastic debut album, “Out of Control”, in 2022. Three singles followed in 2024, including a rocking cover of the Flashdance tearjerker “Maniac”. In keeping with the motto “And they’re rockin’ like they never rocked before”, they turn the classic into a rousing rock banger. Harsh have already toured Europe and the UK as headliners and as a support act for artists such as Anvil, Inglorious, The New Roses, Black Rain, W.A.S.P. legend Chris Holmes and many others. With their explosive, high-energy performances and captivating stage presence, the French band never fails to thrill its audience. Album number two is scheduled for 2026. That promises even more fuel for fans of gritty 80s hard rock that gets straight into your ears.
