UDO IN A CELEBRATORY MOOD

Udo Dirkschneider is celebrating a triple anniversary in 2027! 75 – 40 – 20 is the magic formula: The German metal legend is turning 75, his band U.D.O. is celebrating 40 years, and will release album number 20 in the anniversary year. With the “Three Times Anniversary Tour”, U.D.O. will come to Pratteln in January to throw a massive party with their Swiss fans.

Udo Dirkschneider was actually supposed to follow in his father’s footsteps and take over the family’s tool factory in Wuppertal. But as his musical commitment increasingly took over, he had to make a decision at a young age: “Take over the company, or step into madness – so I stepped into madness.” Fortunately for all metal fans. With his bands Accept, U.D.O. and Dirkschneider, the singer has made music history over the past five decades and become the embodiment of the Teutonic metal frontman. Since the 1980s, his distinctive voice has shaped countless metal classics. Udo is a true icon of the genre, continually redefining its history. 2027 will be no different. It is a big year for the musician, as Udo celebrates his 75th birthday on 6 April. He is giving himself the best present of all. With his band U.D.O., he will deliver his twentieth studio album since the band was founded in 1987 – just in time for the start of the tour. The “Three Times Anniversary” release tour will bring Udo and his fellow musicians to Z7 once again in January. One thing is certain: when Dirkschneider takes our stage, it will be anthemic, brutal and utterly authentic. Following U.D.O.’s last gig, featuring the top-ten album “Touchdown”, Tinu from Metal Factory wrote: “They came, they played, and they tore the place apart. It was a magnificent evening with a seasoned band that still has a hell of a lot to say in metal.”
