FURIOUS SOUNDS FROM THE RAP-METAL PIONEERS
For more than 30 years, Clawfinger have been part of the top tier of the international crossover scene. Their hits shaped the scene like few other bands have. On Halloween Saturday, the Swedish-Norwegian genre pioneers will be bringing their new studio album “Before We All Die” and numerous hits from their long career to our concert factory.
Clawfinger burst onto the international music scene with a deafening bang in 1993. Their debut album “Deaf Dumb Blind” became a worldwide success with tracks such as “Nigger”, “The Truth” and “Warfair”, and is still regarded as a groundbreaking milestone today. With their mix of metal, rap and electronic elements, Clawfinger not only created a new musical style, but also addressed highly topical social injustices in their songs with an unvarnished critical eye: Clawfinger managed to give voice to an entire generation. By now, this profound hit factory of the crossover scene has achieved absolute cult status. Their last album, “Life Will Kill You”, was released 18 years ago, but now there is finally new material: “Before We All Die” (release date: 20 February 2026) is the title of the new studio record. Frontman Zak Tell is once again delivering hard-hitting lyrics: “This isn’t about peace. It’s about spreading the truth, no matter how horrific it may be. And that’s exactly why we do it.” On “Before We All Die”, Clawfinger address issues including environmental destruction, political hypocrisy and personal disillusionment, right through to collective refusal. “This album is made up of one third protest, one third therapy and one third middle finger,” he adds. “Unfortunately, we can’t pull any solutions out of a hat either, but at least we are rebelling, because simply staying silent would mean the end of us all.” The very first single, “Scum”, makes it unmistakably clear where the band stands. The band criticises corrupt leaders, feigned morality and the growing mob driven by right-wing ideology. Zak: “’Scum‘ is a raw, loud and brutally honest punk-rap track that hits you right between the eyes. It’s aimed at selfish, sexist and self-obsessed guys who never stop talking. With razor-sharp lyrics and a beat like a punch in the face, ‘Scum’ says exactly what we think about these guys who should simply disappear. The song is immensely angry, dark and direct. If you’ve ever wanted to spit in someone’s face but lacked the courage, or social etiquette prevented you from doing so, then this track is exactly what you need.”
